Storage & Handling Tips

Careful Handling Prevents Bruising
Apples can bruise very easily. Do not toss or drop.

Refrigerating Is A Must
Apples that are not to be displayed immediately must be kept cold to reserve maximum freshness. After the rst of the year, apples deteriorate 10 times as fast without proper refrigeration. Store cartons under constant refrigeration at about 33 degrees F. with relative humidity of 90%.

Display All California Apple Varieties
Apples are your #1 pro t maker in the produce department. Give your customers a maximum choice of varieties and package options. Display apples in varying colors to attract customer attention.

Rotate Your Apple Display
Rotate your California apple displays for maximum sales results. Tired, bruised apples do not sell.

To prevent apple slices and dices from browning, dip in one part lemon juice and three parts water or in apple juice.
